Hotels in Westport, CT

Hotels in Westport, CT
Westport, Connecticut, offers a wide range of outdoor activities. Since it is on the coast, water enthusiasts can enjoy fishing, swimming, boating or jet-skiing. For those who would rather stay on land, the town's parks, such as Sherwood Island State Park, offer visitors a chance to go hiking or mountain-biking along trails. Before planning any activity, however, it is important to find suitable accommodations.

The Inn at National Hall

The Inn at National Hall was built in 1837 and turned into a luxury hotel in 1993. Today, it is a popular landmark in Westport. The hotel offers guests their choice of one of 16 rooms, half of which are suites. Each room is uniquely designed and has a specific name. For example, the India room is decorated in regal tones with hand-painted wall murals and a crystal chandelier. The Equestrian suite, on the other hand, is made up in mustard tones with horse stenciling, and has a private fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. For business guests, the hotel has a elegant board room with an antique crystal chandelier and Internet and projector services. But be forewarned: As this is a small hotel, there is no in-house restaurant or room service.

Inn at Longshore

The Inn at Longshore is next to the shoreline on Connecticut's Gold Coast. Renovated from a 20th-century private estate and country club, which saw such visitors as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Teddy Roosevelt, this hotel has 12 unique and spacious guest rooms. Each comes with a fully furnished living room, a stocked kitchen and a large bathroom with whirlpool. This hotel is popular for weddings and caters to the occasion with a wedding menu. The menu includes such dishes as pan-seared duck, shrimp scampi and grilled filet mignon. But weddings aren't the only thing the hotel is known for; it also caters and hosts bar mitzvahs. The menu for these occasions is more child-based, and has dishes such as chicken wings, French fries, hamburgers and "petit filet mignons." Although the Inn at Longshore serves a host of food for these occasions, regular hotel guests can expect to receive a complimentary breakfast each morning.

The Westport Inn

Westport Inn's 115 rooms are divided among three types: traditional, deluxe and suites. The traditional is a standard economical room with either queen or twin beds. The deluxe room is a little bigger and comes with a separate living room and fold-out sofa. The suites are mainly reserved for big groups or families, since all of the spacious rooms, with separate living and sleeping areas, connect to one large communal room with two sofas and a television. No matter which room you choose, you will get free wireless Internet, an alarm clock with iPod docking station and cable television. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's fitness center with full gym, heated indoor pool and in-house restaurant and bar. For business meetings or celebratory functions, the hotel has three function rooms, the largest of which is 4,000 square feet.
