New Jersey offers a variety of crab restaurants to excite the palates of outdoor enthusiasts. After a long day of exploring towns near the New Jersey coast, what better way to relax than by eating crab? These New Jersey crab restaurants, are near local outdoor attractions.

Mud City Crab House

Located on 1185 East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin, NJ, Mud City Crab House offers Maryland Style crabs with crab seasoning and crabs prepared garlic-style. The restaurant also offers jumbo lump crab cake and crab cake with backfin crabmeat. Snow Crab legs, live Dungeness crabs and Alaskan king crab legs are additional options on the restaurant's extensive menu. From April 1 to May 1, Mud City Crab House is open Thursday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The spring season begins May 1 and runs through Memorial Day. During the spring, the restaurant is open Thursday-Monday, 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. In Late Spring, the restaurant is open every day from 11:00-9:30 p.m. except on Wednesdays. During the summer the restaurant is open every day from 11:00-9:30 p.m. Mud City Crab House is just minutes away from Long Beach Island where you can explore the Barnegat Lighthouse, rent a kayak to paddle across Barnegat bay or go for a brisk walk on the beach.

Phillips Seafood

Located on 1 Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic City, NJ, Phillips Seafood offers Cream of Crab Soup, Chesapeake Crab Cakes, Baked Crab Stuffed Shrimp and Steamed King Crab Legs in addition to a diverse array of other seafood. The average price of an entrée is about $25, but its sister restaurant, Phillips Seafood Express on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, offers some less pricey options for lunch. The hours of Phillips Seafood are Sunday through Thursday 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Before going to Phillips Seafood, you can stroll on the Atlantic City beaches, take a trip on a fishing boat like the Highroller pontoon (See Resources 2) or enjoy the amusement park on the Atlantic City boardwalk. One of the best parts of Phillips Seafood is that you can see the Atlantic Ocean from most tables. Thus, you can continue to have a scenic experience as you rest from your outdoor adventures.

The Crab House

Located on Ocean Drive and Fish Dock Road in Wildwood Crest, NJ, The Crab House offers Maryland Blue Crabs, Fried Stuffed Crab as well as crabmeat salad. On Monday nights during the summer, all crabs except for jumbo crabs can be purchased at a discount. While the restaurant does not take reservations, it is a good idea to call for hours and for information about start and end dates of the season. While in Wildwood, in addition to kayaking, fishing and going to the beach, you might try parasailing. Hang Loose Parasail in Wildwood can get you started on your parasailing adventure.
