Italian Restaurants in Albany, New York

Italian Restaurants in Albany, New York
Albany is the capital of New York and the oldest incorporated city in the state. The city is a two-hour drive to world class skiing, hiking and mountain climbing at Gore or Whiteface Mountain, Mount Marcy and Lake Placid. Italians make up one of Albany's largest ethnic groups, a fact that is reflected in the number of Italian restaurants in the city.

Lombardo's

Lombardo's is a classic family-owned Italian restaurant, located near the state office buildings and the downtown arena. The restaurant is regarded as one of the finest Italian restaurants in upstate New York. The 1950's decor, including the large neon sign on the building's exterior, is accented by an extensive menu of fine Italian cuisine. Veal dishes are the specialty of the house, with 11 varieties on the menu. Scaloppine di vitello is the best of the bunch--breaded scallops of veal topped With prosciutto and fontina cheese in a veal sauce.
