The historic sites that are in the Mar-Mac area are the Effigy Mounds National Monument, the Pikes Peak State Park and the Yellow River State Forest. The Frontier Motel is within walking distance of the City Park and marina, and within a few miles of the state parks. After touring the winding Great River Road Highway, which offers enthusiasts a view of the bluffs and river below, you can retreat back to The Frontier Motel.

With a heated outdoor pool and view of the Lady Luck Riverboat Casino, the motel offers guests other amenities, such as high speed Wi-Fi, queen-size beds, coffee service in-room, TV's with cable and movie channels and large bath tubs with soft water.
