Hotels in Dells, Wisconsin
This small town in Wisconsin is home to one of the great family entertainment environments in America. The word "dells" is a geologic term for the sandstone formations, formed by glacial action, along the Wisconsin River. As the self-proclaimed "Waterpark Capital of the World," Wisconsin Dells boasts 18 indoor parks and three outdoor parks covering a total of 70 acres. About 5 million tourists visit the area each year. Your options for hotels in Wisconsin Dells run the gamut from retro to sophisticated.

Alakai Hotel and Suites

This moderately priced Hawaiian-themed hotel comes with heated pools, whirlpool and sauna, game room and indoor and outdoor water parks. Rates for a double queen room start at $58 in the off season and go up to a high of $155 during peak times, as of November 2009. Twelve different room styles provide plenty of choices when it comes to the exact type of accommodation you want, even if it's a two-bedroom suite with whirlpool, wet bar and fireplace. These cost a bit more, of course. If you're in the mood to part with more of your money, the Alakai Hotel provides a free shuttle to the nearby Ho Chunk Casino. With in-room Wi-Fi and great central location, the Alakai is a solid choice for a base of operations from which to enjoy the area.
