Motels With Weekly Rates in Bastrop, Texas

Motels With Weekly Rates in Bastrop, Texas
Originally an outpost where the Old San Antonio Trail crossed the Colorado River, Bastrop is as old as Texas itself. Today it is still a small town about the same acreage as the nearby Bastrop State Park. Bikers and hikers will be interested in the Lost Pines trails that take you through the loblolly pine forests in the area, and Austin is only 30 miles away. Of the many motels in Bastrop, some offer discounts for staying a week or more, but usually you have to ask for the discount. It is also worth considering that Bastrop is also home to a number of B&B's, some with weekly rates in the same ballpark as some hotels. The price difference could be made up simply by the cost of the included breakfast.

Loblolly Pines Village

The loblolly pine is the native to east Texas but can also be found around Bastrop. Loblolly Pines Village is a motel lodge five miles from the entrance of Bastrop State Park and two miles from Lake Bastrop. They advertise a quiet, pet-friendly resort for big events, such as wedding receptions, as well as single rooms and suites. Rich in amenities, Loblolly Pines offers rooms with microwaves and mini-refrigerators and two suites with kitchenettes. In-ground swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball, volleyball courts, laundry facilities, and 38 acres of land with their own wooded walking trails, all for a weeklong discount of $55 per night ($385/wk).

Pecan Street Inn

For just a few dollars more, the Pecan Street Inn is in a huge historic building away from the highway with a wrap-around porch on a half acre of land. Their lavishly outfitted rooms are $70 per night for a weeklong stay (down from $150). After walking to a local restaurant you will come back to a queen-sized bed, satellite TV, wireless internet. King beds are available too. The Colorado River with a hike and bike trails is two blocks away. Gourmet breakfast is served the next morning, and guests have use of the outdoor grill and full kitchen if desired. But it is recommended you make reservations well in advance if you want to stay the week as consecutive days can be hard to get. Pecan Street allows pets if they are kenneled.
