Kona Village Resort, landscaped with tropical vegetation and lagoons, sits on a protected bay with soft sand beaches. More than 20 diving spots are within close range for this resort, offering excellent scuba diving experiences. Accommodations are in thatched-roof oceanfront bungalows. Bungalows are spacious and include bathrobes, a selection of drinks, turndown services and a private Jacuzzi (in some rooms), but do not include radios, telephones or TVs. Stays at Kona include three Hawaiian Polynesian meals a day, snorkeling, a Hawaiian luau, bamboo pole fishing, lei-making and tennis.

Kona Reef Resort specializes in one- to two-bedroom condo vacation rentals. Condos feature a private lanai, fully stocked kitchens, microwaves, oven, dishwasher, cable TV and ocean/garden views. The resort has a swimming pool, sun deck, barbecue areas, party pavilion and a large selection of restaurants nearby. Historic Kailua-Kona Town is within walking distance and offers many shops and restaurants.
