America's third-oldest national park, Yosemite National Park, is full of beautiful vistas that include Tuolumne Meadows, Half Dome and Yosemite Falls, as well as a wealth of hiking trails and outdoor activities to keep active travelers occupied. Yosemite Valley offers many affordable, rustic cabins to the 4 million people who visit the region annually. Quoted prices are valid as of November 2009. Curry Village (Camp Curry)

If peace and quiet is your top priority, don't stay here; it's near a major parking lot for day-trippers and overnight backcountry guests. However, it has some of the cheapest cabins inside the park. Food is not allowed inside any of the tents, regardless of whether you choose canvas tent or wood cabins, because of bears, Be prepared for a long walk to the showers. Rates range from $74 to $196 per night.

Housekeeping Camp

A good value located in a beautiful area near the Merced River, Housekeeping Camp has 266 units, each of which sleeps up to six people. Three walls are concrete, and the fourth is simply a curtain. Guests enjoy views of Yosemite Falls and Half Dome, and a river is nearby for swimming. Rates are approximately $70 per night.

White Wolf Lodge

This complex consists of just 24 canvas tent cabins as well as four hard-sided cabins with private baths. There are no private cooking facilities or electricity in the tent cabins, but there is a central dining area and a wood burning stove (wood is provided). Canvas tent cabins accommodate up to four people. Cabins with baths are propane heated and have limited electricity. Rates are approximately $95.
