Cheyenne Mountain Resort

Enjoy fishing, swimming, and paddleboat riding at Cheyenne Mountain Resort's 35-acre lake. The resort has four pools, and a full-service health club. On the grounds, you'll also find 18 holes of championship golf, along with 12 outdoor, and 6 indoor tennis courts. Paths for biking, jogging or hiking are easily found near the resort. Eight residential lodges contain 316 luxurious suites and guest rooms. All Rocky Mountain inspired rooms have views of the mountain or surrounding area. Chico Basin Ranch

Though listed among resorts in Colorado Springs, the Chico Basin Ranch provides a different experience. It's not a dude ranch, but it is a working cattle ranch. This 18,000-acre property offers great opportunities for bird watching. Over 320 species of birds, many rare, have been sighted at Chico Basin Ranch. The Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory manages a bird banding station at the Ranch. In fall and spring, the banding station is open to visitors.
