Located in central Vermont, Rutland is on U.S. 7 and is the second largest city in Vermont. The town of Rutland is a separate entity, and surrounds the city of Rutland. Rutland is just west of a large portion of the Green Mountain National Forest, as well as Killington, the largest ski area in the Eastern United States. Because of its proximity to Killington, Rutland has several lodging options.
