Morro Bay is a small coastal town located midway between Los Angeles and San Fransisco. It has been a fishing village according to history. It's claim to fame now is the Morro Rock. The Rock is a volcanic plug that formed approximately 23 million years ago and it's 576 feet tall. The Rock serves as a bird sanctuary for the Peregrine Falcons. Since it's a bird sanctuary no one is allowed to climb it or disturb it in any way.
Morro Bay has more to offer than just the Rock. There is an estuary for over 250 species of birds and two dozen of them are endangered. There is the Morro Bay Natural History Museum. This museum has exhibits, lectures, nature walks, and hands on areas for children. Morro Bay offers quaint shops, golf, wineries, and relaxing coast lines. In addition the coastline is available to be explored and you can get boats to go into the water. You can rent bicycles to explore the town as well. It is also a short distance from the Mountain of Gold State Park and Hearst Castle.

Ascot Suites

Ascot Suites are located in the center of everything. It is within walking distance of the water, shops, and galleries. This hotel offers free high speed wireless internet, expanded breakfast, and wine pouring. Ascot Suites have in room fireplaces, balconies (in some rooms), alarm clocks, VCR, phone, refrigerator, coffeemaker, jacuzzi tub, fourth floor roof top garden, elevators, and iron with board.

The Bayfront Inn

The Bayfront Inn is a European style hotel. It has 16 rooms. Each room features in room coffee, refrigerator, free WI-FI, HBO, and unlimited parking. There is no parking allowed anywhere on the property. This hotel is located right on the coast line which gives you access to beach walks, boating, bicycle rentals, hiking trails, and fishing.

Embarcadero Inn

The Embarcadero Inn is on the waterfront of Morro Bay. There are 33 rooms and most of them have private balconies and fireplaces. This hotel is right by the shore so you can kayak, walk on the beach, nature walk, shop, and anything else you desire. The hotel is also close to the Hearst Castle.
