You can book a deep-sea fishing charter from the local marinas, rent a surfboard and catch some waves, or just relax on the sandy beach. Daytona Beach Shores offers the same outdoor activities as the more famous Daytona Beach but without the crowds. There are numerous Daytona Beach Shores motels only steps from the Atlantic Ocean.

South Shore Motel

An ideal location for surfing, the 25-room South Shore Motel is located directly on the beach. South Shore Motel has a swimming pool, and the oceanfront rooms feature cable television, coffeemakers and private balconies. Rooms with fully equipped kitchens are available. Internet access is not available. The South Shore Motel does not have dining facilities, but several restaurants are within walking distance. There are several surf shops within a two-mile radius that will rent surfboards. For the more adventurous, the Sea Dogs Dive Center can take you on a diving trip to local reefs. Sea Dogs, which rents diving gear and provides lessons, is 30 minutes north of the motel.

The Royal Beach Motel is a family-friendly motel located on the beach. All of the rooms are oceanfront, and they feature satellite television, dial-up Internet access, hairdryers, coffeemakers, microwaves and refrigerators. This pet-friendly motel has 49 rooms and a swimming pool, guest laundry facilities and a bar. Several restaurants are within walking distance of the motel. When you aren't lounging at the beach, you can take a kayak through some of the nearby waterways. Cracker Creek Canoeing, 10 miles from the motel, rents canoes and kayaks and offers eco-tours.

The Beachside Motel is a non-smoking, 31-room motel located directly on the beach. The motel has a heated swimming pool, fitness center and a spa. The Beachside Motel provides beach towels for its guests. The rooms have cable television, free wireless high-speed Internet access, coffeemakers and refrigerators. Rooms with full kitchens are available. The Beachside Motel provides complimentary continental breakfast, but for full meals, several restaurants are within walking distance of the motel. Take a short drive down the coast to Inlet Harbor Marina, where you can book a charter boat for some deep-sea fishing.
