Located in north central Florida, Branford is situated in what is known as "spring country." Natural springs producing crystal clear water and natural pools are found throughout this part of the state. Adventurers come from all over to dive, snorkel, canoe and kayak in the many springs and rivers. Though there is only one hotel in the town of Branford, travelers with pets will have no trouble locating nearby pet-friendly hotels when visiting the area.

Steamboat Dive Inn

Serving as the only hotel in Branford, the Steamboat Dive Inn is partially pet-friendly. Dogs are not allowed to stay in the hotel. However, cats and other small, litter-trained animals are welcome in exchange for a cleaning fee of $10 per stay. All hotel rooms are equipped with two double beds, cable television and air conditioning. For larger groups and families, rooms are available with four double beds and include a refrigerator and microwave. Non-smoking rooms are available. A dive shop is located on-site and restaurants are within walking distance. Twin boat ramps leading to the Suwannee River are situated across the street from the hotel at Ivey Park. As of November 2009 room prices range from $50 to $85.

Super 8 Motel Lake City

Super 8 Motel Lake City is situated just outside of Branford and is roughly 10 miles from Springs State Park and 15 miles from Ichetucknee Springs State Park. This hotel welcomes pets for a fee of $10. Guests with pets should notify the hotel in advance when possible to verify that they can be accommodated. Hotel amenities include complimentary continental breakfast and ice cream, an outdoor swimming pool, free wireless Internet access and cable television. Several restaurant options are available within three to five miles. The majority of the hotel rooms are non-smoking. As of November 2009, rates begin at $42.

Lake City Red Roof Inn

Red Roof Inn opened in Lake City in 2006, and might be one of the "pet-friendliest" hotels in the area. Not only are pets welcome to stay at no charge, the hotel additionally offers special discounts to guests with American Kennel Club registered dogs. Hotel amenities include a hot continental breakfast, free wireless, an outdoor swimming pool, and cable television. Located just off of Interstate 75, the hotel provides easy access to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is only 2 miles from the Columbia County Fairground and less than 20 miles from Stephen Foster State Park and Culture Center located on the Suwannee River. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available. Room rates start at $59.99 as of November 2009.
