Delaware has many rivers and lakes and is a great place for the outdoor adventurer to vacation. The Delaware River is the largest in the state and offers camping, canoeing, boating with boat ramps, hiking trails, fishing and tubing. Rittenhouse Park in Newark is almost 50 acres with hiking trails and access to Christina Creek. Silver Lake covers 167 acres and is the only reservoir in the state that allows water skiing. Fishing is also allowed and it is in Silver Lake Park which has a swimming beach, boat ramp and hiking and biking trails. Delaware is on the Atlantic Ocean and has several state and federal parks. No matter what part of the state you are in, you will find a steakhouse for dinner after a day outdoors.

CW Harborside

CW Harborside is just a couple of block from the Delaware River. The atmosphere is casual and there is an outdoor patio for summer dining. There is a room for private dining. The menu features 12 oz. dry aged New York strip steak, 8 oz. center cut filet mignon, crispy wild rock bass, 10 oz. maple glazed pork chop, jumbo shrimp pasta and an assortment of sandwiches, wraps and burgers. Prices in 2009 range from about $9 to $32.

Matilda's

Matilda's is an Australian style steakhouse near Rittenhouse Park. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly with a kids menu. The menu includes scampi-topped filet mignon, filet mignon, spice-rubbed rib eye, New York strip steak, barbecue ribs, meat pies, crab cakes and fish and chips. Prices in 2009 range from about $9.99 to $21.99.

Shuckers Pier 13

Shuckers Pier 13 has been open since 1979 and the atmosphere is very casual. The restaurant is located near the northern end of Silver Lake and offers outside dining. The menu features 8 oz. filet mignon, 16 oz. porter house, 12 oz. Angus prime rib, 12 oz. New York strip steak, pork chop, grilled chicken breast, grilled jumbo tiger shrimp, grilled swordfish and sea scallops. Prices in 2009 range from about $8.95 to $32.95.

Steakhouse 26

Steakhouse 26 is less than two miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The 200-seat restaurant is split into three dining rooms. There is an outdoor patio for the summer months. The style is bistro and the atmosphere is casual. The menu features 8 oz. filet mignon, 15 oz. rib eye, 12 ounce New York strip steak, flat iron steak, fried shrimp, fish and chips, crab cakes, Thai beef and shrimp and chicken curry. Prices in 2009 range from about $16.95 to $24.95.
