Japanese restaurants in Chicago are spread out between downtown and the north side of the city. These are some of the best areas for water sports, bike riding, leisurely walking and shopping. Parking in Chicago's North Side can be rather difficult at times, so take public transportation (bus, train, or cab) to your destination, bike, or walk if your location is less than one-half mile away.

Oysy Japanese Sushi Restaurant

Oysy is three blocks south of the core of Grant Park, and one mile south of Millennium Park. Millennium Park is great for skating in the winter and rollerblading in the summer. Visit Grant Park for its many festivals in the summer as well as Buckingham Fountain. Enjoy sushi or izagaya dishes at prices ranging from $5-$10.

Sushi Mon is in the Lincoln Park community one-half mile west of Lincoln Park Zoo, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and Chicago's lakefront. Kamehachi

Kamehachi is located one-half mile west of Navy Pier and one-half mile south of Oak Street Beach. Reservations are not required. Bob San

Bob San is located in the heart of the Wicker Park community, approximately one mile south of Humboldt Park, which is a great area for dog owners and joggers. Sushi Wabi

Located 1.5 miles east of the United Center (home of the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks), Sushi Wabi is semi-casual eating at semi-upscale prices. Valet parking is available and reservations are recommended; takeout is also an option. This restaurant has a great selection of Japanese desserts including choya (chilled plum wine with marinated plum), maccha (green tea cheesecake with brownie crust and raspberries), and fuji apple fu (warm fuji apple and peanut spice cake with caramel sauce and ginger ice cream).
