Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on the Atlantic Ocean, has patrolled beaches for swimming, surfing and swimboarding. Bike rentals and kiteboarding lessons are available throughout the summer season, and nearby parks have both primitive camping sites and RV hookups. The mile-long boardwalk is home to amusements, restaurants and hotels, but dogs are allowed on the boardwalk only from October 1 to April 1.

Atlantis Inn

The Atlantis Inn is a smoke-free hotel within two blocks of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. The hotel allows only dogs and charges $20.00 per night (as of November 2009) in addition to the regular room rate, and dog owners must sign a Pet Disclaimer form at check-in. Dogs are not allowed at the Atlantis Inn from Memorial Day until the Tuesday after Labor Day. The hotel's restaurant, the Red Square, serves Russian cuisine with a selection of caviars. Wireless Internet access is available and guests receive a discount at a nearby fitness facility.

AmericInn Lodge & Suites

AmericInn Lodge & Suites is located in the outlet shopping area of Rehoboth, two miles from the beach and boardwalk. Dogs are welcome year-round at the hotel, but are permitted only in standard rooms, not in suites. Luxury rooms feature fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. The non-refundable pet fee, as of November 2009, is $20.00 per night on one- or two-night stays, $10.00 per night on longer stays.The hotel has a dog walk area and offers gourmet pet treats on check-in. Cats are not permitted.

BEDazzled Bed and Breakfast

BEDazzled Bed and Breakfast is decorated in the style of Hollywood's golden age. The same family owns the Bewitched Bed and Breakfast next door, and pets are welcome at both accommodations. The two properties share a large private deck and garden area, and spa services are available. There is a 40-pound limit at Bewitched and BEDazzled's weight limit is 70 pounds. Animals must be current on their shots and flea control. Both B&Bs charge $30.00 per pet per day (as of November 2009) and collect a $100 deposit, which is returned if there is no damage.

Canalside Inn

The adults-only Canalside Inn doesn't accept guests under 18 years of age, but does permit up to two dogs or two cats per room. There's a $35.00 per night charge (as of November 2009) and the hotel reserves the right to raise the fee if your pet damages the room. Five dollars of every pet fee is matched by the Inn and donated to the Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary. Canalside Inn is located on the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal, a short walk from the town and the beachfront. The Inn's common area features large-screen TV, a video library and wireless Internet access.
