Richmond Road Restaurants in Lexington, Kentucky

Richmond Road Restaurants in Lexington, Kentucky
In the "Horse Capital of the World," you can camp in the Kentucky Horse Park, tour horse farms, and stroll through McConnell Springs. And when you've camped, ridden, and walked up your appetite, these restaurants, all located on Richmond Road, are there to fill you up, and get you back in the saddle.

Miyako

After riding, and learning about horses all day, one might not immediately think "sushi." But when that craving hits, it hits, and you'll be glad for Miyako. This Japanese restaurant offers both hibachi style cooking, and sushi. Diners are encouraged to "mix and match" from the many varieties of fish, chicken, and steak on the menu, which includes lobster tail, filet mignon, and Sumo Man which is filet mignon, chicken, and lobster tail. Vegetarians will want to check out the "Washoku" menu, which features udon noodles, vegetable tempura, and pineapple fried rice.

Columbia Steakhouse

All those horses got you feelin' like a cowboy? Got a hankerin' for steak? Then mosey on over to the Columbia Steakhouse on Richmond Road, one of three locations for this Lexington staple.

Columbia's promises the fried green tomatoes on their appetizer menu are "the best in town," but are only seasonal. For those who wish to "dine light," there are three options: grilled salmon entrée salad, grilled chicken or steak salad, or a steamed vegetable platter. Otherwise, choose your cut: tenderloin, ribeye, New York strip, t-bone, sirloin, or prime rib, and dig in.

Shamrock Bar & Grille

When you're ready to go back to basics, head on over to Shamrock. The menu carries all the best of traditional American/Irish pub fare, like wings, potato skins, nachos, wraps, burgers, fish & chips, and chili, as well as a truly diverse selection of more eccentric fare: beer cheese, "Irish caviar" (veggie-filled dip), Cajun pasta Alfredo, Southern fried hot brown, and for dessert; a deep fried cookie dough eggroll.

Even more impressive than the food menu is the seemingly limitless selection of beers. Yes, there is the standard Bud and Bud Light but there are also local brews: Kentucky Ale, and Kentucky Bourbon Ale.
