Waikiki Beach Luxury Hotels

Waikiki Beach Luxury Hotels
Waikiki is the home of wide beaches, fantastic ocean watersports and some of the best hotels in the world. From the classic elegance of the Moana Surfrider to the sleek new Trump International Hotel, every visitor looking to make his Hawaiian trip memorable can find the hotel of his dreams.

Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk

Opened in November 2009, Trump International Hotels took advantage of a previously overlooked spot in Waikiki to build a 38-story, 462-room luxury hotel. While it's not right on the beach, it overlooks the military-owned Fort DeRussy Park, giving it a clear, wide view of the ocean to the south. Its height and fortunate location also give beautiful sweeping views of Diamondhead, the Ko'olina Mountains, and downtown Honolulu; only a block away, the Waikiki shopping district offers everything from custom surfboards to Louis Vuitton couture. It offers every amenity you can imagine: en-suite gourmet kitchens, a full-service spa, an infinity pool and the highest-end concierge service.

Hilton Hawaiian Village

Spread out across four different hotel towers and with tons of jewelers, clothiers and restaurants in small buildings and lower floors below, this hotel truly is a small village. Just walking through is a treat; moss-backed turtles sun themselves in one fountain, and a small colony of penguins--yes, penguins--splash about in another fountain next door to a gorgeous bromeliad garden. Hilton Hawaiian Village also offers one of the best commercial luaus in Waikiki, multiple pools and wide sandy beaches right on the ocean on two sides. It has great amenities, and rooms range from affordable to luxurious. You may find the restaurants a bit pricey here; that's not a problem, as plenty of good, inexpensive restaurants are located no more than a block or two toward downtown Honolulu.

Moana Surfrider Hotel

Walking into the Moana Surfrider Hotel is like walking back in time. From the pillared porch to the rocking-chair-bedecked lanai, Moana Surfrider was built to evoke the glamor and laid-back style of the old Hawaiian plantations, back when the islands were a distant tropical dream for most. It was the first hotel on Waikiki Beach, and today is still much smaller than most (793 guest rooms on six floors); multiple top-notch renovations, however, have ensured it remains comfortable and luxurious. It boasts the only beachfront spa on Waikiki, including a large workout area, and overlooks some of the best windsurfing beach in Oahu. It is located only a few blocks from the Honolulu Zoo, the Honolulu Aquarium and the evening music and hula fest at Kuhio Beach Park (free on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdas and Sunday only).
