German restaurants operate in Michigan cities like Detroit, Ann Arbor and Frankenmuth. Establishments like The Dakota Inn and Jacoby's have served authentic German cuisine in Detroit since 1933 and 1904 respectfully. After a taste of Old World cooking in downtown Detroit, outdoors enthusiasts can exercise on the 110-mile Detroit Heritage River Water Trail, which offers paths for joggers and hikers in addition to ramp access for canoes and kayaks.
