Tremont Outdoor Resort

Tremont Outdoor Resort prides itself on the Townsend city motto: "On the peaceful side of the Smokies." It was also voted Best Outdoor Resort 2009 by the Official Best of Tennessee review. The log cabins for rent by Carnes' Log Cabins, now part of Tremont, are exquisite. Located a mere mile from the Townsend entrance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, there appears to be four log cabins. Each one is nestled into the trees around them, almost as if the branches themselves are holding them there. The typical amenity includes gas and wood stoves, decks with outrageous views, 27-inch cable TVs and central air or heat, depending on the time of year.
