The Melting Pot

The Melting Pot, first open in April 1975 in Maitland, FL, began as a small business that turned into a franchise. Menu options include a choice of varying chocolate fondues, such as bananas foster white chocolate, flaming turtle milk chocolate and raspberry infusion dark chocolate. Cheese fondue choices feature cheddar cheese, Swiss and fiesta cheese (cheddar cheese with Mexican spices) served with fresh breads and vegetables for dipping. Entrée choices include meat, fish and chicken cooked in flavored broths or oil. The Melting Pot has five locations throughout Illinois.

Geja's Café

Geja's Café, touted as "the best fondue establishment in Chicago" by the Chicago Tribune, is also considered the most romantic fondue dining, featuring live Classical and Flamenco guitar. Geja's offers imported Gruyere cheese fondue served with apple wedges, grapes and bread. Entrée fondues feature beef, chicken, lobster, shrimp and scallops. Orange liqueur flamed chocolate fondue is served with strawberries, apples, melon, banana, pineapple, pound cake, and marshmallows. Over 300 fine wines from around the world are available at Geja's---fifty of which are offered by the glass.

Zbistro

Zbistro operates as a full-service restaurant offering traditional fare, including sandwiches, wraps and soups. Fondue dining is featured on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, as of November 2009. Three cheese fondue choices (Swiss, cheddar and three cheese) are served with apples and bread choices. Entrée fondues feature beef, shrimp, chicken or fish. Dessert fondues include caramel, peanut butter and dark chocolate and are served with bananas, apples, strawberries, oranges, pound cake, chocolate wafers and marshmallows.
