Hotels in Colonia, Uruguay
Colonia del Sacramento, known informally as "Colonia," is a popular tourist destination at the mouth of the Rio de la Plata, an hour from Buenos Aires by catamaran. It's near some nice beaches, but the big attraction is the beautiful colonial architecture that has made Colonia a UNESCO World Heritage site. Adventurous travelers will want to stay in or near the Old Town, where the colonial ambiance is best and where the local Thrifty outlet rents bicycles as well as cars.

El Viajero Colonia Hostel

This sociable hostel is located in a 19th-century building and offers both dorm rooms and private suites with bath. All rooms have air conditioning and guests can take advantage of free Wi-Fi, a solarium, a barbecue and an on-site bar. Breakfast is also included.
