Restaurants In Dewitt, New York

Restaurants In Dewitt, New York
Dewitt, New York, restaurants are primarily comprised of national franchises, but the following selections are strictly homegrown. The local pizza joint, Jamaican cuisine and American fare found here should sate your appetite and provide the energy you'll need to take advantage of the Guided hikes offered at Clark Reservation State Park. This park features a huge, watery basin that was formed in the ice age.

Mario & Salvo's Pizzeria

Mario & Salvo's Pizzeria is a local favorite for an authentic Italian pizza-eating experience. You can eat in or take out items ranging from traditional pies like Neopolitan and Sicilian to calzones, chicken dishes, baked ziti, chicken wings and salads. Syracuse University students especially appreciate the venue because it's the only pizza place that delivers to its campus. Call ahead, because they stop delivering a half hour before closing.

Diva Jamaican Restaurant

The Diva Jamaican Restaurant is the only Caribbean-styled fare in town. You can tuck into exotic (especially for Upstate New York) lunch and dinner offerings such as jerk and curry chicken, oxtail, curry goat and a tangy brown stew chicken. Sides of Mac and Cheese, corn bread and plantains make for comfort food to the extreme. Diners with a "YourTown" card get a free soda with their meal.

Dark Horse Tavern

The Syracuse website calls Dark Horse Tavern a winner, and locals agree. It may be tiny, but guests can join in for lunch or dinner, and feast on above average gastropub eats like Ahi Tuna, sirloin steak and other "flawless" hot entrees. The staff is attentive, and prices are affordable, considering the quality of the food. Don't miss the in-house made desserts like apple pie and key lime pie. The venue doesn't accept reservations, so you may have to wait, but it's worth it.
