Spice Avenue
Whether just passing through at the airport, or cycling the Natchez trace between New Orleans and Nashville, you are likely to stop in Jackson for a night. The capital offers some of the best Indian options in the state, with Spice Avenue topping that list. Hidden on Frontage road right off the interstate a few miles north of downtown, this place originally started as part Indian grocery before the popularity of the food caused the owners to turn it into a full service restaurant. They offer fantastic lunch combos, and entree prices range between $9 and $15 (in 2009).
