Hotels in Wendover, Nevada

Wendover, Nevada, made national history when World War II aircrews trained at the Wendover Airfield, including the B-29 Enola Gay crew, who was responsible for dropping one of the world's first atomic bombs. The airfield today is open for tours. The area is also home to the Silver Islands Mountains, Bonneville International Speedway, and the Leepy Hills. Hiking, climbing, horseback riding, and scuba diving nearby in Bonneville, are local activities.

Wendover is home to the Nugget Hotel and Casino with over 500 rooms and suites. Each room has pillowtop mattresses, coffee makers, room adjusted heat and air and 37" flat screen television sets. Bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers and large "sunflower" shower heads. On-site dining facilities include The Nugget Steak House, Golden Harvest Cafe, Nugget Buffet, and Trino's Tacos. A Starbucks Coffee house (open at 7:00 a.m. each day) and a Dreyer's Ice Cream parlor are located inside the hotel complex. The Martini, Billiards, Stage and Cigar Bars offer hard liquor, beer and wine beginning each afternoon.

Rainbow, Peppermill & Montego Bay Casino

Rainbow, Peppermill and Montego Bay are combined into one casino location in Wendover. A combined total of 1,363 rooms are available at the hotels. The Rainbow has an indoor pool, on-site restaurants, and a steak house. The Peppermill Resort has three bars and two on-site restaurants. The Montego Bay is the newest hotel in Wendover and it boasts an outdoor pool, gym, and spa. Three restaurants are located at the hotel, and they feature surf and turf menu items.

Red Garter Casino

The Red Garter Hotel and Casino offers 100 single or double rooms and Jacuzzi suites. The hotel offers an on-site golf course (with special hotel packages available online). The Garden Room serves seafood, steaks, chops and sandwiches, with a Sunday one-fee buffet package. Bar specials are offered on Sunday through Thursday at happy hour (5 to 7 p.m.). Reservations may be made online or by telephone.
