Carvers Bakery Cafe

Carvers Bakery Cafe has been feeding people early morning and lunch favorites for over 30 years. Homemade breads, bagels, pastries, soups, sandwiches and a great cup of coffee are served every day. Carvers has survived since its beginning as a bakery in the 1970s, through several owners, a fire and multitudes of customers. Carvers fits the ideal of a "mountain town" cafe for the casual customer to read a paper while enjoying a hot, fresh breakfast and a cup of coffee in a little "cottage" setting. Carvers also offers vegetarian options. Open at 7 a.m., Carvers is the perfect place to start your day before hitting the slopes.

Deno's Mountain Bistro

To call Deno's Mountain Bistro a mere bistro would be a misrepresentation. This restaurant has been open for "38 seasons." It has been owned and operated by Deno Kutrumbos and family since 1976 and is one of the distinctive experiences of Winter Park. Located in a historic downtown location that used to cater to loggers, fisherman and railroad workers, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Deno's offers huge portions of steak, pastas, seafood, handmade pizza and burgers. Add to that a wine list of over 300 wines, a full bar, Colorado micro brew on tap, sports and music--Deno's is a restaurant you won't want to miss. Prices in 2009 seldom go over $25 (except possibly for crab legs depending on market). Open seven days a week, 365 days a year, Deno's serves food from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the bar open "until it closes" at 2 a.m. or earlier.
