Medford, New York is a hamlet in Brookhaven, Long Island, New York. It is a small area, but it is home to the Long Island Central Pine Barrens. It is a beautiful, protected area of natural pines and it is actually the largest and last natural area on Long Island. The Peconic and Carmans Rivers, two of Long Island's largest, are in the Barrens. If in the area to see this natural wonder, there are a few hotels in the area.
