This backpacker's hostel was voted the best hostel in the Netherlands in 2009 by Hostelworld.com. It's located in the Scheepvaartkwartier district enclosed by the river Maas, the Erasmus Bridge and the park at the Euromast, and it is just steps away from public transportation. The hostel has 16 rooms, each with its own theme, including the Love room for romantic couples or the Art room, which sleeps four and has a modern art theme. The Room Rotterdam also has dorms that sleep five, six, eight and 10; rooms are neat and contemporary with bunk beds. Walk from the hostel to the harbor and hop on a boat excursion, or get your gear and head out on one of Rotterdam's many bike trails. Socialize in the foyer with drinks, TV, games and Internet. There are free breakfast and a guest kitchen where you can cook your own meals as well as self-service laundry facilities. Some nights the hostel "parties big time", according to its website, with free pancakes, bingo, movie nights and the Poetry Slam Jam.
