On a Budget
Rest your bones at the Ujamaa Hostel if you are traveling on the cheap. Located less than a mile from the center of town, the Ujamaa offers 14 dorm beds with four to six persons per room as well as one private double. Linen is provided and laundry, breakfast and dinner are included. All beds have mosquito nets and lockable drawers. The community room is the main place to meet on the hostel grounds and is a good place to cook a meal or watch a movie between safaris. Note that full payment for stay is due upon arrival. Cash only.

In Between
Choose the Impala Hotel if something more toward the midrange in prices is in order. Located close to the city center, the Impala has 160 rooms, including junior, executive and deluxe suites. Lower priced rooms are simple but clean and offer television sets and refrigerators while suites offer comfortable, airy rooms with wicker furniture, four-poster beds and large bathrooms. Of special note at the Impala is the well-stocked buffet breakfast, inviting pool and lodge-like lobby that makes for a good place to watch people.
