Hotels & Casinos in Laughlin, Nevada
The city of Laughlin, Nev., was named South Pointe when workers labored on the Davis Dam in the 1940s. The town began as a bar and single motel before the Laughlin family developed the site into a gaming town in 1970s. A boom in building began in the 1980s, creating the nine hotels and casinos that currently welcome the 3 million guests that visit the city each year. Laughlin, located on the Colorado River, offers a variety of water sports.

The Pioneer

The Aquarius

The Aquarius Casino Resort Hotel, which opened as the Flamingo Hilton in 1990, is one of the newest hotels in Laughlin. The transformation into the Aquarius took place in 2008 as part of a $20 million renovation that included remodeling of the guest rooms. The 1,907 rooms are grouped into "Luxury" and "Riverview" categories and the 90 suites are grouped into "Casino" and "Executive" classifications. Categories are determined by the location and view. All rooms include high-thread-count sheets, blackout curtains, designer carpet and furnishings and complimentary bath items. Tower accommodations are limited to adults over 18 years of age. Gaming includes slots, live poker and both race and sports book. Fine dining, requiring reservations, is offered at the hotel's Vineyard Ristorante. River Walk dining is available at H 2 Oh!, and the Windows on the River presents value buffets. The Cafe Aquarius serves sandwiches and modestly priced entrees. The Outback Steakhouse and Starbucks Coffee also are located on the hotel grounds.
