One of the larger metropolitan centers in Canada is Saint John, located in the eastern province of New Brunswick and host to 1.5 million tourists per year. Saint John is home to many world class restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines, including hand carved steaks or other beef cuts. Saint John offers many different steak restaurants for New Brunswick locals or visitors with a taste for beef.

Church Street Steakhouse

The Church Street Steakhouse is run by the Grannan Hospitality Group. Church Street Steakhouse exclusively offers AAA beef grown in Alberta and aged up to one month. The menu includes three different sizes of both New York strip and prime rib. Church Street Steakhouse also offers eight-ounce portions of Baseball Sirloin and filet mignon, ten-ounce and twelve-ounce portions of pepper steak, and a 16-ounce T-bone steak. You can have any steak char-crusted, covered with an herb and spice rub that enhances steak flavor, for a few additional dollars.

Drake Steakhouse

The Drake Steakhouse offers five different styles of A-1 red brand steaks: a six-ounce ribeye, an eight-ounce sirloin, a ten-ounce T-bone, a ten ounce New York Strip Loin and a six-ounce filet mignon. Each steak dinner is served with the vegetable of the day, garlic bread and your choice of potato. All steaks are cooked to order, and patrons can order mushrooms, onions or green peppers as an add-on. The Drake Steakhouse also offers a game room filled with arcade games.

Saint John Ale House

The Saint John Ale House offers 29 different beer brands on tap and food grown from small local farms. Their steak menu offers ten-, twelve- and 42-ounce portions of prime rib, or you can create your own sized cut for an additional $2.50 per ounce. Their ten-ounce New York Strip Loin comes from AAA corn-fed beef and includes fresh chopped garlic. The Saint John Ale House also offers a peppercorn crusted tenderloin au poivre, a cold smoked maritime ribeye and a market cut that's priced daily.

Boilerworks

Boilerworks is named after the original Boiler Works manufacturing company that was destroyed in the 1877 Great Fire of Saint John. Their steak cuts are hand carved daily from AAA Canadian beef. The eight-ounce Boilerworks Ore House is topped with a lobster Hollandaise sauce made in-house. Boilerworks also offers an eight-ounce tenderloin, an eight-ounce compressed filet mignon wrapped in bacon, a ten-ounce New York Strip Loin and a cut to order New York Strip Loin costing $2.35 per ounce. Customers can order additional sides of vegetables, prosciutto-wrapped scallops or jumbo shrimp, or a half-rack of back ribs basted with Tennessee whiskey.
