City Tours With Hotel Pick Up in Madrid, Spain

City Tours With Hotel Pick Up in Madrid, Spain
While you're in Madrid overnight, en route to hike the Sierra Nevadas or bike the countryside, why not take in some of the city's historical sights and attractions? If your time is short, consider a guided tour. You'll get an insider's look at the city and won't waste your time and energy trying to find your way around the metropolis. Here are three city tours with hotel pick up in Madrid.

Madrid Day Tours

Join a group or request a personal tour of the city with this longstanding tour company. They provide an English-speaking guide, and pick up and drop off services from any hotel in Madrid. You'll travel through the city in air-conditioned mini vans, down the famous Gran Via and Castellana, to Plazas de Espana, Puerta del Sol and Puerta de Alcala. You'll get a peek at some of the historic quarters and visit two of Madrid's best parks, the Casa de Campo and Retiro. Along the way, you'll see the Royal Palace and Prado Museum (though you don't go in them.) The four-hour tour is a good, one-time, general look at the city. There's time to get out and take pictures, but you'll want to return to your favorite sights to spend more time exploring. The half-day tours are offered in morning or afternoon sessions, daily. Cost is about $150 for two people, $120 for three people, and $100 for four people.

Madrid City Bicycling Tours

Pedaling through Madrid's narrow picturesque streets and squares is a great way to see the city. Cheap Hostels in.com offers a one day guided bike trip through Madrid, with transportation to and from your hotel. They have French, English and German speaking guides, van support, and provide bikes and helmets. Bravo 27-speed bikes with a front fork are used. The small group sticks to lesser-traveled streets and paths, but there are times when you'll be in traffic, so you should be comfortable with biking in busy urban settings. All the top attractions are hit on the day-long excursion; lunch is also included. Cost is about $70 per person.

Then, you'll continue the tour, traveling by coach past the major attractions and sights in Madrid. They offer pick up at selected hotels. The four-hour, afternoon tour, led by an English-speaking guide, ends at the Madrid bus terminal. Price, including admission to the Royal Palace, is about $80 per person.
