Hotels Around Windsor, Canada
Windsor, situated on Ontario's southwestern tip, sits across Lake Erie from Detroit. Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River form two of Windsor's other boundaries, making this a city ideal for kayaking and canoeing vacations. Windsor is about an hour northwest of Point Pelee National Park, with hiking, biking and cross country skiing trails. More than 300 migratory bird species stop at the Park each spring and fall, and millions of Monarch butterflies settle on its treetops in late summer before beginning their annual trip to Mexico.

Duffy's Tavern and Motor Inn

On the Detroit River about 30 minutes south of Windsor is Duffy's Tavern and Motor Inn. The contemporary 35-room Motor Inn features rooms with two doubles or one king bed, Wi-Fi, and computerized phone systems with wake-up service. Each room also has hair dryers and refrigerators, and some of the king suites have Jacuzzis. With 84 boat slips on the river, the hotel also has an outdoor patio and pool, and a fitness center. The tavern, open every day, serves full breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Saturday night seafood buffet has three kinds of shrimp, along with scallops, mussels, chowder and other seafood specialties.

The Vintage Goose Inn & Spa

Forty-six minutes southeast of Windsor and only half an hour from Point Pelee National Park, this beautifully restored late 19th-century bed and breakfast has six suite guest rooms with queen beds. Two of the rooms have Jacuzzis. The Vintage Goose is decorated with Canadian antiques including sleigh and four-poster beds. The two upstairs rooms have private balconies where guests can bask in the surprisingly mild southern Ontario climate. The Inn's Aqua Spa gives guests a chance to pamper themselves with an aromatherapy massage session, body wrap or facial followed by energizing fresh juice or herbal tea in the den or gazebo or on the front porch.

Days Inn Pelee Hotel

Just minutes from Lake Erie and Point Pelee National Park, the Days Inn Pelee Hotel is a family resort hotel in the town MoneySense Magazine once named Canada's best place to live. Its sun domes and two indoor swimming pools make the most of the mild southern Ontario climate. Kids will love the two water slides, arcade gallery and volleyball court. For adults, there are billiards tables and a garden atrium, whirlpool and sauna in which to relax. The badminton court and putting green provide opportunities for some friendly competition. The hotel's 94 rooms have Wi-Fi with work areas and cable TV. The Chateau Pelee Restaurant features dinner theater. The Coffee Garden provides hot breakfasts.
