Restaurants in Milford, New York
Milford is a small village in upstate New York's scenic "Leatherstocking Country", conveniently located midway between Cooperstown, and the college city of Oneonta on State Route 28. The Four Corners, as the village stoplight is locally known, is also the southern terminus of State Route 166, which leads to the historic village of Cherry Valley. Two restaurants and a microbrewery pull in a steady traffic of both local residents and Hall of Fame, museum, college-bound, and sightseers year round. The village is a jumping off point for hiking in Arnold Lake, and Susquehanna State Forests.

The Milford Inn

Milford's oldest eating, drinking and lodging establishment is located right at the Four Corners in the village of Milford, offering a restaurant and a sports bar as well as rooms for lodging. The menu offers options for every taste and budget, ranging from diner-delicious hearty breakfasts to well-appointed steak, pasta dishes, and seafood platters. The soups are homemade, and the bread is right out of the oven, and all dinners include the salad bar. Friday, and Saturday nights feature the prime rib of beef. Meals range from $8-20

Jackie's Restaurant

Jackie's Restaurant is located just south of the village, in a concrete building that used to house a meat locker, and is organized with the same efficiency. The kitchen is always open, the coffee is always fresh, the service is always friendly, and the food is always good country cooking. This is where the locals meet, and eat. Great prices, and unbelievable portions. If you're heading out for a day of hiking in the area, get started here. Meals range from $5-15.

Cooperstown Brewing Company

Milford has two restaurants, but no culinary tour is complete without a visit to the Cooperstown Brewing Company, a microbrewery founded by descendants of local hop farmers in 1994. After the Civil War, hops were the cash crop of Otsego County, and Milford was the epicenter of hop farming industry. After a blight all but wiped out successive crops in the early 1900's, the local economy turned to dairy farming, but Milford has never forgotten its role in the glory days of the hop industry. The Cooperstown Brewing Company brews premium ales, porters, and stouts using English barley malts, West Coast hops, and English Ringwood Yeast. The brewery features an on-site gift shop, offers tours, and tastings several times daily. Take home a case of Pride of Milford as a souvenir of your visit to the Four Corners.
