The Marriott Renaissance Casa de Palmas is near many outdoor activities in McAllen as well as other attractions. Outdoor activities nearby include birdwatching at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, visiting South Padre Island, Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park and the National American Butterfly Association's butterfly park, and walking around the Gladys Porter Zoo. The hotel is centrally located in McAllen near the Historic Business Redevelopment District, so individuals who enjoy walking around cities have a nice place to walk nearby. Other nearby attractions include ice skating, shopping at the Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlet Mall, and the Hidalgo County Historical Museum.

The Embassy Suites in McAllen is less than a mile away from the McAllen airport, so it is very convenient for guests to find upon arriving in McAllen by plane. The hotel website also says that it is near many attractions in McAllen, of which the outdoor ones include Santa Ana Wildlife, Bentsen State Park and the World Birding Center, and South Padre Island. It is also near Reynosa, Mexico, so adventurous travelers can easily explore both Mexico and Texas.

This Holiday Inn Express is across the street from La Plaza Mall and only four blocks away from the airport, so it convenient for individuals arriving in McAllen by plane and also for those who like to shop.
