There is downhill skiing within an hour's drive at Schuss Mountain Resort in Bellaire and The Homestead in Glen Arbor.

The Park Place Hotel is in downtown Traverse City, two blocks from Grand Traverse Bay and the TART Trail. Open in 1873, the hotel is the tallest building in downtown Traverse City.
