The Mount Washington Resort is a four-season resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. Mount Washington is the largest mountain in the northeastern United States. The resort has both luxurious and casual lodging and dining options. Outdoor fun is a year-round event in the area, which boasts downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. With Mount Washington as a backdrop, the Mount Washington Resort offers breathtaking views.

Lodging

Four lodging options are available at the Mount Washington Resort: the Mount Washington Hotel, the Lodge, Bretton Arms Inn and the Townhomes. The Mount Washington Hotel is one of the 10 best mountain hotels in the world, according to Forbes Traveler. Indoor and outdoor pools, Jacuzzis and fireplaces are some of the comforts the hotel offers. An orchestra plays in the 4-Diamond Dining Room, where four-course meals are served.
The Lodge offers balconies or patios in every room, providing guests a breathtaking view of the Presidential Mountain Range. This cozy lodging option includes an indoor heated pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and access to the Rosebrook Recreation Center. The recreation center, which is available to all guests who stay at any of the three lodging options, has racquetball courts, exercise equipment, pool, steam room and Jacuzzi.
The Bretton Arms Inn is a restored bed and breakfast, with lovely gardens and detailed woodwork. There are 34 guest rooms with private bathrooms, telephones and Internet access. A fireplace warms the parlor, and the dining room serves breakfast and dinner.
If you are traveling in a group, the Townhomes are an excellent option. They have one to five bedrooms, kitchens and fireplaces. These condo units are fully furnished. Like the other lodging options, you are able to enjoy the Rosebrook Recreation Center.

Activities

Bretton Woods has something for everyone. The Canopy Tour is a thrilling ride on multiple zip lines. Bridges and hiking trails dot the area. On the grounds of the Mount Washington Resort, you can relax at the spa or play a round of golf. Almost 800,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest surrounds the Mount Washington Resort. This provides numerous rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking trails, from beginner to expert. Scenic horseback riding and fly fishing are also popular activities.

Winter Sports

Bretton Woods is the largest ski area in New Hampshire. There are 101 glades and trails, covering 434 acres with snowmaking capability on 92 percent of them. Night skiing is also offered. If you enjoy cross-country skiing, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center offers a 100km network of trails. The trails pass streams, cross fields and travel through the woods. Snowshoeing on the trails is also permitted.
