Lake Placid is a small city in Florida's Placid Lakes region. Lake Placid is within easy driving distance of Lake June-in-Winter Scrub State Park, Jack Creek park, and Highlands Hammock State Park, which have hiking trails and camping facilities. Also nearby is the large Lake Istokpoga. In the many lakes in Lake Placid's immediate vicinity, you'll find plenty of operators offering boat rentals, tours, and fishing charters.

Bring your own RV and make use of Sunshine RV Resort's full hook-ups, including water, electric, sewage, and even cable TV. If you don't have an RV, rent a park model for a comparable price. Sunshine RV Resort sits on Ridge Lake for access to water activities. Other recreation options include a game hall with pool and ping pong tables, frequent events, such as ice cream socials and family activities, and an outdoor swimming pool. Dale's Lakeside Resort

Dale's Lakeside Resort sits directly on Lake Placid and has its own private beach, with covered lounging areas and an outdoor barbecue area with gas and charcoal grills. This quiet little resort offers one large efficiency (sleeps six) with two bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom. Groups of four can stay in one of the smaller efficiencies, which have only one bedroom, plus the kitchen and bathroom. Dale's Lakeside Resort has its own dock and boats. While staying here, choose to go on an air boat tour of Lake Placid. If fishing is more your speed, guided fishing trips on the lake are also offered.
