Siesta Key, located off the coast of Sarasota, Florida, is an ideal vacation spot for nature lovers. The south end of the island is especially perfect for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities. Adventures includes scuba diving on a fossilized reef, renting a kayak for a leisurely paddle, hiking one of Siesta Key's two state parks, fishing, swimming or simply strolling along the beach. Visitors may even see wild dolphins and manatees, which are plentiful in these waters. After finishing for the day, there are a number of great hotels ideal for rest and relaxation.

The Beach Place

The Beach Place has one-bedroom apartments for weekly rental within a short walk of Siesta Key Beach. The resort offers free bike and tennis racquet rental, a heated outdoor pool, and there are free public tennis courts across the street from the hotel. Guest laundry is available. Rates run from $400 to $1700 per week depending on the season and size of the room.

The Palm Bay Club

The Palm Bay Club, located on a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico, offers rooms and suites. This resort has two heated swimming pools, a hot tub overlooking the bay, a complimentary fitness center, lighted tennis courts, an on-site boat rental (available for a fee), a fishing pier, private beach, on-site beach equipment rentals, and concierge services to help you plan activities. Off-site boat rentals, golf and deep sea fishing are available nearby. Rates range from $185 to $560 per night depending on the room and season.

Tropical Shores Beach Resort

The Tropical Shores Beach Resort offers a variety of rooms from mini efficiency rooms to two-bedroom suites within walking distance of the beach. Each room has a fully stocked kitchen and refrigerator that allows guests to enjoy a quick and easy breakfast of their choice before leaving for the day's activities. In addition, the hotel uses environmentally-friendly Green Seal Cleaning Products, which have have received the approval of various eco-friendly organizations, for all of their cleaning. Room rates vary depending on the season and the type of room reserved.

Siesta Key Bungalows

The Siesta Key Bungalows is a bed and breakfast style hotel located close to the south end of the island. Each bungalow is located within a lush tropical setting, and there is a swimming pool available for guests to use. All rooms have a kitchen area with complimentary coffee as well as other amenities. Room rates range from $139 for a smaller room in the off-season to $319 for the largest suite during the peak times.
