Metairie, Louisiana Hotels

Metairie, Louisiana Hotels
Metairie was built on the south side of Lake Pontchartrain and was the first suburb of New Orleans. The area is separated from New Orleans by a water canal. Many residents of New Orleans moved to Metairie after Hurricane Katrina. The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway provides a bridge from Metairie to the north shore of the lake. The area is home to nightclubs, centered in the commercial area known as "Fat City," retail malls and entertainment. Many Metairie businesses and hotels use a New Orleans address, due to the close proximity to the Big Easy.
