New Lexington is the county seat of Perry County, Ohio. Perry State Forest, where the whole family can enjoy biking trails, horseback riding and APV terrain, is only about four miles away. Wayne National Forest and Hocking Hills State Park are also within a short drive. Although New Lexington has no hotels, there are many inns and cabins within a thirty-minute drive.

Wildwood Inn and Llama Farm

Wildwood Inn is a small, family-owned bed and breakfast. Two suites are available, one with a private bathroom en suite and one with a private bathroom just outside the room. The rooms each feature an antique double bed with hand-made quilts. The lovely wooded setting invites guests to walk, bird watch or lounge on the deck or gazebo. The moderate room rates includes a gourmet breakfast. Reservations are required, with a 50% non-refundable deposit via cash or check only. The inn is smoke-free.

The Wayne National Forest and the Buckeye Trail are two miles from the inn. Perry State Forest is about fifteen miles away, while Hocking Hills is twenty minutes away.

Bear Run Inn Cabins & Cottages

Bear Run is a family-run business set on over 30 beautiful acres of private land in Hocking Hills. The inn features three available suites with private baths and either a queen bed or two king beds. A gourmet breakfast is included and the property features a wrap-around porch with rocking chairs. Also available are five small cottages, which sleep between four and twelve guests. Reservations are required, with a credit card.

On site activities include hiking, fishing, bird watching and wagon rides. Hocking Hills State Park is minutes away.

Smoke Rise Ranch Resort

A working cattle ranch, Smoke Rise Ranch gives the whole family a chance to experience the west right in Ohio. Accommodation choices abound at Smoke Rise, from deluxe to minimal. The Hewitt house sleeps up to 13 and includes a hot tub. The ranch house sleeps six and includes a hot tub. The longhorn sleeps four and features a loft and a Jacuzzi. Rustic cabins sleeping six are also available, as are camping spots. There is a club house with a pool on-site, and many evening and weekend events are held for the entertainment of guests.

Horses can be rented on site for an hour or a day, and horse stalls are available so that guests may bring their own horses. Lessons in horsemanship, cattle roping and more are available.
