Holiday Inn Express & Suites

The bend-over-backward, friendly staff shine at this Saskatoon hotel and will make your stay a lot more pleasant, with helpful tips and accommodating services. The property is located outside the downtown area but a short, easy drive away. Suites are good-sized, some with full kitchens and others with kitchenettes. Expect the usual Holiday Inn décor of neutral shades and dark woods. There's a tiny fitness center on site (not much more than a couple of obligatory treadmills and small pile of weights) and an indoor pool. If you're a light sleeper, you might be bothered by the street noise and the trains going by. The average price room price is around $180 a night.

Delta Bessborough

This historic hotel in downtown Saskatoon is a landmark and a perennial favorite with well-heeled travelers. It's an old hotel, so there are some quirks like cold drafts, but the central location is great and the staff very professional. You can walk to most downtown attractions and restaurants, and shops are also nearby. If your budget isn't too tight, opt for the executive-level chateau suites, where you'll have a large sitting area with French doors leading to the bedroom. The suites have two TVs and modern baths, and the club level gets you free Wi-Fi, complimentary continental breakfast and free evening snacks. Junior suites are also available on the club level, which are basically oversized rooms with a sitting area. Both suite styles have small refrigerators. The property has a great indoor pool area and fitness room.
