Outdoor Activities
Canastota has several trails available for those who would like to get outdoors. The Great Swamp Conservancy is a 60-acre restored wetland with a large boardwalk running throughout. Visitors can enjoy more than 185 species of migratory birds within the conservancy.
The Canastota Link Trail connects the Finger Lakes Trail and the Old Erie Canal Park. It also includes connections with the Cazenovia Preservation Foundation Trail System.
The Nichols Pond County Park has 45 acres with trails for hiking and winter activities. Set on a former Oneida Indian village, the park is the site of the 1615 Champlain-Oneida Battleground.
The Oxbow Falls County Park consists of 125 acres of woodland, streams and rugged terrain. The park includes a 100-foot waterfall and offers panoramic views from Oneida Lake to Lake Ontario.
Canastota visitors have limited options for accommodations within the village, however.
Days Inn Canastota
The Days Inn Canastota is located adjacent to the International Boxing Hall of Fame and allows guests free admission. It is close to Turning Stone Casino, the Erie Canal and Oneida Lake. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, wireless high speed Internet access and guest laundry. It accepts pets. Renovated in 2006, the guest rooms have standard amenities. As of November 2009, rates vary between $75 and $85 per night.

Graziano's Inn
Graziano's Inn is located adjacent to Graziano's Restaurant in Canastota. Owner Tony Graziano is a military veteran and former boxing manager. He has managed champions Carmen Basilio, Billy Backus and Rocky Fratto. The inn has 31 guest rooms and one suite with a king-size, canopied bed and four-person Jacuzzi tub. All of the rooms offer standard amenities.
Graziano's Restaurant serves Italian-American fare and offers a 10 percent discount to inn guests. The inn is pet friendly and has varying rates based dates of travel.
