Three miles down the Guadalupe River from Canyon Lake, you'll find The Mermaid Cove. At The Mermaid Cove, you can choose from a variety of reasonably-priced cabins, a large lodge, RV sites, or primitive tent camping.

As they're situated on the Guadalupe River, The Mermaid Cove has canoes available for hire as well as boat ramps for motorboats and jet skis. Boat rentals are available from Canyon Lake, as are a variety of tubing trips. Other on-site recreation options include fishing, hiking, volleyball, playground, and basketball.

Rio Raft and Resort

Like The Mermaid Cove, Rio Raft and Resort is a few miles from Canyon Lake on the Guadalupe River, but they focus on a wide array of vacation cottages. You can choose from one to four beds and single or multi-story cottages. RV and tent sites are also available.

The other half of Rio Raft and Resort's business are raft, canoe, kayak, and tube rentals and trips. They offer rafting and tubing trips from Canyon Lake down the Guadalupe river ranging from two to six hours. Other nearby attractions include Schllitterbahn Water Park, Natural Bridge Caverns, and the Canyon Lake Gorge.
