Bally's
Bally's wasn't always Bally's--in 1980, the original MGM Grand stood at 3645 Las Vegas Boulevard before it caught fire on November 21 of that year. Eighty-seven of the more than 5,000 people in the hotel that morning died and now, supposedly, haunt Bally's. According to Janice Oberding's book "The Haunting of Las Vegas," crying and screaming have been heard in hotel hallways, and sightings of ghostly figures, one in particular a "misty bluish green," have been reported by guests and employees.

The Flamingo
The Flamingo is where famed Las Vegas mobster Bugsy Siegel might be spending his afterlife. Bugsy died in 1947 in Beverly Hills, and his ghost was spotted in the Flamingo's penthouse until 1996, when the building was torn down and he moved to the rose garden. Janice Oberding includes in her book the story of a couple who spotted his ghost near the garden fountain when a woman "walked right through him." Other reports include late-night sightings by the pool and a maid who quit her job after seeing him on the fifth floor, according to the website hauntedpoker.com.

The Tropicana
The Tropicana is not so much haunted by a ghost as infested with a strange phenomenon. Janice Oberding devotes a quick page of her book to this long-standing Las Vegas hotel and its purple haze that apparently appears unexplained in photographs. One possibility is that the haze is the ghost of a former Folies Bergere showgirl.
