Between Lake Kaweah and Sequoia National Park sits the gateway community of Three Rivers, California. Named for the meeting of three forks of the Kaweah River, this little town is nestled among canyons, trees, and water. Rio Sierra Riverhouse

Located on the shore of the Kaweah River, this charming inn features four rooms and lush suites with kitchenettes for you to enjoy. Swimming is right outside your doorstep with private cabanas along the water's edge and swimming hole area. The property isn't short of privacy, as there are grassy areas and tables with seating throughout. Features include air conditioning, coffee makers, TVs, microwaves, river access, and evening bonfires with restaurants, bakeries, and shops nearby. Rates in 2009 begin at $125.

The Gateway Restaurant and Lodge

If hiking, biking, or rafting is for you; just minutes outside of Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon sits The Gateway. Full banquet services make this a wonderful place for weddings, receptions, or any other special event. The restaurant features an extensive menu serving continental cuisine. There are five rooms to choose from, a cabin for couples, and a two-room river house with a private patio. Features include satellite air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi access, coffee makers, and writing desks. No in-room phones have been a popular request by guests but you are free place calls at the reception desk. Rates in 2009 begin at $99.
