Hotels Around the Redwood National Forest

Hotels Around the Redwood National Forest
The redwood trees in northern California's Redwood National Forest rise to over 400 feet above the forest floor. These natural wonders provide a beautiful backdrop for hiking and camping expeditions. The nearby coast offers surfing, fishing and wildlife watching, or adventurers can ride a jet boat down the Klamath River. A variety of lodging options, from cabins to full-service hotels, are available in the region.

Redwood National Park Hostel

As the only lodging inside Redwood National Forest, the Redwood National Park Hostel is as close as it gets. Accommodation styles include male, female or coed six to eight-bed dorms, as well as private twin-, double- or three-bed rooms. Many rooms boast an ocean view, including the common kitchen and dining facilities.

This hostel's kitchen goes above and beyond the norm, offering free extras like organic coffee and tea, oils, spices and pancake mix. During the warmer months, guests can barbecue out on the open sundeck, and the common lounge has a working wood stove for chilly northern California winters. The Snack-quoia Sempervirens shop conveniently offers basic grocery items. As the hostel is located in the park, there's easy access to a number of hikes to sights like the Trees of Mystery, Battery Lighthouse and Damnation Creek.
