Foxford is a perfect location for someone looking for an outdoors adventure. This small town is nestled between the Ox and Nephin mountains and located off the River Moy. If you enjoy hiking, you can venture by yourself or take a guided tour of The Foxford Way walking trail through the Ox Mountains. On Sundays The Foxford Walking Club takes a weekly walk on this trail. If you are more into fishing, The River Moy is an ideal location for salmon fishing. You can rent a boat or go out with a local if interested. Although there are a number of outdoor activities to enjoy in this small town, there is a limited number of places to stay within city limits.

The Mayfly Hotel

Located in the heart of Foxford you will find the Mayfly Hotel. This hotel has many amenities of a four-star hotel but for a fraction of the price. Single, double or deluxe rooms are available and include bathrooms and televisions in each room. If you need babysitting service, Internet access, laundry services or room service, they also are available. During the day you can enjoy golf on an 18-hole course, horseback riding and angling. Enjoy a drink in the bar or coffee shop at the beginning or end of your day as well.

Pontoon Bridge Hotel

At the Pontoon Bridge Hotel, you can book a standard, superior or suite room. Amenities include laundry, babysitting, televisions in each room and room services, but the additional services are most impressive. You can enjoy a meal at The Waterfront Bar & Bistro with a ceiling-to-floor view of the Twin Lakes. If you would like a bird's-eye view of the scenery, the Pontoon Bridge Hotel has a rooftop terrace that also houses a sauna and jacuzzi as well as seating areas. During the day you can brush up or learn a new skill, taking classes in one of three schools: School of Cookery, a School of Landscape Painting and a School of Fishing. These classes are run by experts in each field. Because of its location near the Twin Lakes, the Pontoon Bridge Hotel is ideal for fishing. The hotel offers wild brown trout fishing in the lakes and wild salmon fishing on River Moy.

Healy's Restaurant and Fishing Lodge

One of Foxford's smallest hotels is Healy's Restaurant and Fishing Lodge. Located on Lough Cullen, this country house has 14 rooms with bathrooms, telephones, television and coffeemakers. Only 11 rooms have views of the lake though. This house has been around since 1840 and is decorated to fit the time period.

Our Coachman's Restaurant serves food all day from breakfast at 8 a.m. to last orders for dinner at approximately 8:30 p.m. Breakfast also is available to non-residents. This hotel offers a dining facility overlooking the lake, with food served from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For those interested in fishing, shooting, golf, hiking and horseback riding, Healy's is an affordable hotel that fits these needs.
