The Buttes Resort (Marriott property) is located four miles north of Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport and situated on top of a mountain, allowing guests to enjoy a view of the Valley of the Sun. Tempe Mission Palms

The Tempe Mission Palms hotel is located in downtown Tempe next to the Arizona State University campus. Designed with a Southwestern feel, the Mission Palms features outdoor fountains and fireplaces and guest rooms with either king or double beds. The hotel property also maintains an on-site restaurant, lounge, business center, catering and wedding facility.

Guests of the hotel also find themselves within walking distance of Tempe Town Lake, which offers patrons a scenic location for boating, fishing, walking or hiking. Across from Tempe Town Lake, on Mill Avenue, is the Tempe Butte Mountain. Referred to by locals as "A" mountain because of the Arizona State University branding on the south side, the mountain offers easy access to those looking for a brisk walk or a easy-to-moderate hike on a trail to escape city living for an hour or two.

The Best Western located across the street from the Arizona Mills Mall gives travelers access to a different kind of hiking: shopping. The hotel offers guests rooms with high-speed Internet access, refrigerator, microwave and a complimentary breakfast in the morning. A heated hot tub, pool and exercise facility also are on the premises.

Although across the street from a major mall, the Best Western puts you within a short distance to the South Mountain Park and Preserve, which offers hikers who go to the top the ability to receive an unobstructed view of the city of Phoenix and an exciting hiking experience through the range.
