The Maligne Lodge is Jasper's in-town hotel closest to the park's 750 miles of hiking trails (warm weather and ice hiking), whitewater rafting, fishing, snowboarding and skiing of the Marmot Basin, where sightings of elk, grizzlies, caribou, wolves, and marmots, which are common during the spring and late autumn. Hotel amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, outdoor hot tub, fitness center and sauna, and wireless Internet access.

Astoria Hotel

Operated by the same family for more than five decades, Jasper's 35-room Astoria Hotel combines old-fashioned character with contemporary convenience. Each of its rooms has a work desk with wireless Internet, cable TV, DVD player, mini-refrigerator and phone. Standard rooms feature stand-alone showers and superior rooms boast bathtubs.

While the Astoria has no swimming pool, guests get complimentary passes to the local aquatic center, located just two blocks away. During winter, buses stop at the hotel to transport guests to the Marmot Basin skiing venues.

Amethyst Lodge

The centrally located Amethyst Lodge has 97 rooms and suites, each with a patio or balcony and most with breathtaking mountain vistas. The air-conditioned rooms have wireless Internet, cable TV, hair dryers, and coffeemakers, offering both coffee and tea. Pets are welcome for an additional fee.

The award-winning Anthony's restaurant, located on-site, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also prepare boxed breakfasts and lunches for those who head out early for some sunrise hiking or want to spend the day exploring the national park by car. The dinner menu at Anthony's includes classics like slowly roasted prime rib and Yorkshire pudding.
